The client

Odditt is a US sports data company. Betflow is its app for sports bettors: it combines historical stats with fun facts about teams and players and helps people pick bets across soccer, American football, basketball, baseball and hockey, in more than 100 leagues. Over a dozen of them are women's leagues.

The app does not take bets. Bets are placed with partner sportsbooks, and the launch started in the United States.

The app

Betflow is built around flows, interactive cards that highlight an available bet. Fun flows share trivia about teams and players, while fact flows show charts of past performance under specific conditions. From any flow you can like it, export it as an image to share, add the bet to the cart or place it right away.

The feed is different for everyone. During onboarding the app asks what kind of bettor you are (drawn to trivia, analytical or both), how much you want to stake, and your favourite emoji and teams. A countdown shows how long until the game starts, which is usually when sportsbooks close betting.

Fun Factory and Trend Blender

Two tools generate bets on demand. The Fun Factory turns the emoji you choose, or random ones, into a parlay: its engine works on about a million connections between players, teams and emoji.

The Trend Blender is for people who prefer numbers. You pick a team or player with an upcoming game, add up to 5 conditions (rest days, weather, rivalries) and the app returns fact flows with the historical stats in those situations.

Fun Factory and Trend Blender

From flow to sportsbook

For every bet the app shows the best odds first, regardless of affiliate agreements. Once you choose a sportsbook, checkout opens its app with the bet slip already filled in, when the sportsbook allows it.

Subscriptions

The free plan includes the trivia flows and a limited number of credits for the Fun Factory and the Trend Blender. Premium, monthly or yearly, unlocks the analytical flows and unlimited bet creation.

Development

The app is written in Flutter, with a single codebase for iOS and Android. Behind it sits a microservices backend in Python with FastAPI: we developed every API the app uses.

The same flows also reach Odditt's partners, through B2B APIs we wrote in Go. A set of Next.js widgets completes the work.
